Terms of Use

1. About Harpy

Harpy Alerts is operated by Andy Geer in Ontario, Canada. These terms describe use of Harpy’s website and monitoring service. Questions can be sent to contact@harpyalerts.com.

Harpy helps you save eBay searches as Hunts, review matching listings and receive notifications. Harpy does not buy items, place bids or reserve listings for you.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 to create a Harpy account. Keep your account information accurate and your sign-in details secure. Do not share access or use another person’s account without authorization. Contact us if you believe your account has been compromised; never send us your password or recovery link.

3. Monitoring and Notifications

Search intervals describe the intended checking frequency, not a guarantee of an exact search or notification time. Searches and alerts can be delayed, interrupted or missed because of service outages, eBay API availability, capacity limits, network conditions, device settings or other technical problems.

Harpy does not guarantee that it will find every relevant listing or notify you before another buyer purchases it or an auction ends. Auction reminders depend on Harpy finding and processing the listing in time. Check eBay directly for time-sensitive purchases or bids.

Hunts can continue running on our servers when the app is closed. Turning off notifications or uninstalling the app does not stop monitoring. Pause or delete a Hunt to stop its searches.

4. Listing Information and Purchases

Listing photos, descriptions, prices, availability and seller information come from eBay and its sellers. Information shown in Harpy may be incomplete or out of date. Listings can change or disappear between checks, and a saved result does not mean an item is still available.

Confirm the current price, currency, shipping, condition, seller terms and availability on eBay before acting. Purchases are transactions with the relevant seller through eBay, subject to the terms that apply there. Harpy is not the seller and does not process those payments, fulfil orders or resolve transaction disputes.

5. Free Service and Planned Subscriptions

The current Harpy Free service has no subscription charge and no trial expiration. Current Hunt allowances and planned changes are shown on our Pricing page. Items labelled Coming Soon are not currently included merely because they are described on the website.

Harpy Plus is planned and is not currently available to purchase. No subscription is created by using Harpy Free. Before paid subscriptions become available, we will provide the applicable price, billing period, renewal, cancellation and refund information, and ask you to authorize a purchase. Announced plans do not create a charge or a guaranteed launch date.

6. Acceptable Use

Use Harpy lawfully and respect other people’s rights. Do not attempt to access another user’s data, bypass account or usage limits, interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, or use Harpy to harass others or facilitate unlawful activity. Do not redistribute listing content in a way that infringes its owners’ rights.

You retain any rights you have in your Hunt names and notes. Harpy processes that information to provide the service as described in the Privacy Policy. Avoid entering passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

7. Service Changes and Account Closure

We may maintain, modify or discontinue parts of the service, including when a provider changes or withdraws access. Where practical, we will give advance notice of changes that materially affect your use. Free access does not guarantee uninterrupted service or permanent availability of every feature.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, legal requirements or a material breach of these terms. We may close an account for serious or repeated misuse. Where practical and legally permitted, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue. You can contact us to request a review.

You can stop using Harpy at any time and delete your account through Settings → Account in the app. Data handling and deletion are described in the Privacy Policy. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your account.

8. Third Parties and Your Rights

Harpy is an independent service and is not operated or endorsed by eBay. Harpy participates in the eBay Partner Network. Purchases and bids are completed on eBay. eBay’s name, trademarks and listing content belong to their respective owners; using Harpy does not transfer rights in them.

The iOS app is also subject to the licence agreement provided with it through the App Store. These service terms do not replace that agreement or the terms governing your use of Apple or eBay services.

We aim to provide a useful, reliable service, but cannot promise error-free monitoring, accurate third-party content or successful purchases. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights, remedies or responsibilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

9. Changes and Contact

We will show the effective date when these terms are updated and provide notice of material changes. Where required, we will obtain agreement before applying changes. Updated terms will not remove rights you already have under applicable law.
